Horizonti offers NGOs (not-for-profit legal entities) financial, informational, managerial, and other types of assistance. Continually reviewing and analyzing the developments in the Sector, Horizonti strives to respond to the needs of all types of non-governmental organizations in Georgia that have different amounts of experience and levels of sophistication, through its Grants Program, its Training and Consulting Program and its Information Program, through producing management literature and other types of printed and video production.
Horizonti seeks to expand the number and influence of NGOs outside Tbilisi through its offices in Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi and a network of contact persons (currently located in Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Gori, Rustavi, Ambrolauri and Akhalkalaki) in Georgia's regions.
Horizonti supports improvement of NGO-government relations by active participation in improving the legislative basis regulating activities of the Third Sec and NGO- governmental relationships. The foundation tries to promote partnership projects which involve local citizens, NGOs and governmental agencies.
Horizonti facilitates the establishment of relationships between Georgia's NGOs with non-governmental organizations from the United States and Europe. By distributing information about Georgia's NGOs around the world, the foundation supports acquainting the international community with the democratic processes under way in the country.
Together with its international partners, who include the Initiative for Social Action and Renewal (Washington D.C.), National Center for Non-Profit Boards (Washington D.C.), The Virtual Foundation (Vilnius, Lithuania), Institute for Policy Studies (John Hopkins University, Baltimore), Stanford-in-Government (Stanford University, California), American Friends of Georgia (Massachusetts) and Allavida (UK), the Horizonti Foundation implements programs in and outside of Georgia.
