Environmental Advocacy Training Program

Despite more than a decade of democracy building in the former Soviet Union, public interest remains greatly underrepresented in decision-making about the environment in the region. In order to level the playing field with more powerful stakeholders, environmentalists not only need resources, but they also need the appropriate tools for engaging in effective advocacy and cross-sector dialogue.

Through ISAR’s programs, those working on behalf of the environment gain needed skills for promoting discourse about complex issues facing their communities. Some of the tools provided through the Environmental Advocacy Training Program include: gathering and analyzing information; building alliances and constituencies; public participation in environmental decision-making; legal, social, and economic advocacy; and effective leadership.
