ISAR is pleased to acknowledge Ryan Morris for his in kind donation of photography from the FSU for use on our site.
Ryan K Morris is a freelance photojournalist working in Washington, DC. Photography has always been a major part of his life since usurping his father’s Nikon while living on the family’s farm in Coolville, Ohio. Ryan’s active spirit and creative soul have led him down many paths thus far. He has worked as a fly-fishing guide in Wyoming, built and operated micro-breweries in D.C. and NYC, and worked with a U.S. Congressman on Capitol Hill after graduating from Ohio University 1994. In addition, Ryan served in Kazakhstan, Central Asia as an Environmental Education Volunteer with the US Peace Corps from 2000-2002 with his wife Aimee. They worked with schools and NGOs in the small, northern town of Atbasar, located in the middle of the Kazak steppe, 30 hours by train from the Peace Corps office.
Ryan’s work has been seen widely in national and international publications and his list of clients/publications include Newsweek, Time, People, Der Spiegel, EPA, Washingtonian, the McClatchy Company, the US Peace Corps, the Jane Goodall Institute and several major newspapers. Ryan’s work has been recognized by the White House Press Photographers Association and the Virginia Press Photographers Association in their annual contests.
Of his many roads explored, the most rewarding was becoming a new father to a little bundle of wonder, Louisa Mae, born July 2004.
